About the Property
A short walk from Worthing Beach and the Worthing Town Centre, Highgrove House was originally built as two family dwellings in the 1890s. The Number 32 Winchester Road property consists of a beautiful Victorian building that became a family home for owners Mr and Mrs Neil-Smith in 1978.
Ten years later, they acquired the neighbouring Number 34 property and decided to extend the building. The converted property changed from a residential to a convalescent home, and Highgrove House was born.
Highgrove House retains most of its original Victorian features, including high ceilings, stained glass windows, fireplaces, architectural moulding, and cornices. Highgrove also boasts a spacious and secure garden with a terrace patio for residents to enjoy.
In recent years, the Highgrove House property has undergone careful refurbishments and updates that enhance the character of the original building while maintaining the facilities for its residents.

A Brief History of Highgrove House
A standout establishment among care homes in Worthing, Highgrove House was established as a place to preserve and cherish the later years of life. Ever since it opened its doors in the 1980s, Highgrove House has been a family-run facility, independently owned and operated. In that time, we’ve cared for residents of many backgrounds with an abundance of stories and life experiences. As much as possible, we want residents to feel that they’re not leaving their homes at all, but rather, that Highgrove House is an extension of their home—one where staff are warm, caring, and always on hand to assist. Friends and family members are always welcome to visit at any time.
